The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production operations at Hotpoint Appliances Ltd. The primary purpose is to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing processes while consistently meeting established quality and delivery targets.
Job Responsibility and Accountability
- Manage overall daily production operations to ensure output aligns with organizational goals, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage production budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance programs for all production machinery.
- Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure a steady supply chain.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of production staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs and oversee the professional development of the production leadership pipeline.
- Facilitate high-level communication between production and other departments like Finance, Procurement, and Maintenance.
- Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies to optimize workflows.
- Use Kaizen principles to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, analyzing key metrics such as output, yield, and efficiency.
- Assist in implementing new technologies and automation where necessary.
- Ensure total organizational compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the implementation of robust quality management systems to minimize defects across the plant.
- Any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Key Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in production management within a CKD/SKD manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in production management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities to monitor performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate large, diverse teams.
- Solid knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, focusing on root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing safety protocols, quality management systems, and environmental regulations.
