Public Communications Officer III

Role Overview

The County Government of Kitui is seeking a Public Communications Officer III. This position is permanent and pensionable, operating under the specified salary scale.

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Salary Scale: Ksh. 26,900 × 1,110 – 28,010 × 1,120 – 29,130 × 1,150 – 30,280 × 1,170 – 31,450 × 1,250 – 32,700 x 1,300 – 34,000 x 1,380 – 35, 380 per month.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

1. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
2. Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain) with a minimum of C+ (Plus) in English and Kiswahili and C (Plain) in any other relevant subjects or its approved equivalent qualification.
3. Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Communication Studies, Public Relations or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
4. Be proficient in computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties under the guidance of a Senior Officer:

• Information gathering on topical issues within the Ministry/Department.
• Verifying the authenticity of gathered information.
• Editing and dispatching the information for dissemination to the public and media.
