We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Technologist for our center in Kirinyaga. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, and providing professional clinical advice to patients.
Responsibilities
Dispense prescription medicines and explain dosages, potential side effects, and storage requirements to patients.
Manage pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained and medications are stored correctly.
Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions and controlled substances.
Ensure compliance with all legal and professional standards set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Collaborate with healthcare staff to optimize patient treatment outcomes.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for efficient data management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 3 years post-internship working experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Must be registered and possess a valid, current practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Proficiency in computer skills, especially experience with Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient counseling and teamwork.
