The role of Part-Time Human Resources & Admin Officer at Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) is crucial for overseeing strategic HR management and core administrative functions. DAYO is a Youth Led Public Benefit Organization (PBO) registered under the former NGO's co-ordination board (Registration Number: OP.218/051/21-479/12560) and is based in Mombasa, Kenya. DAYO focuses on capacity strengthening for young people on key thematic concerns, community engagement, and empowerment. This Part-Time position, located in Nairobi, ensures strong HR policies, effective workforce planning, organizational development, and provides strategic HR advice to senior leadership.
Responsibility/Terms of Reference
The core responsibilities include:
- Lead HR and Administration, ensuring strong policies, workforce planning, and organizational development; advise senior leadership on strategic HR direction.
- Ensure organizational decisions align with legal and institutional frameworks.
- Manage recruitment and onboarding of qualified staff in a timely and compliant manner.
- Oversee performance management systems and identify high-potential staff for succession planning.
- Coordinate staff training and capacity-building programs and promote a positive work environment.
- Oversee general administrative functions including office management, logistics, travel, and asset management.
- Manage procurement following established guidelines to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
- Generate timely HR reports for management and donors.
- Ensure payroll inputs are accurate, timely, and compliant with organizational policies.
Level of Education & Qualifications
The minimum required academic and professional skills for the jobholder to perform successfully in their job are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR and Administration experience, with at least 3 years spent in a leadership role within NGOs or the development sector.

- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality in all HR matters and organizational records.
