Job Description
Platinum Outsourcing & Logistics (E.A) Ltd, founded in 2010, is a leader in providing outsourcing and logistics services. We are looking for a dedicated Operations Manager to manage and oversee the daily operations of our clearing and forwarding department. The successful candidate will ensure efficient processes, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and timely execution of tasks across our offices.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic and tactical oversight of freight forwarding operations, ensuring that the department meets its targets while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Freight Forwarding Oversight: Maintain a deep understanding of freight forwarding operations and trends.
Office Management: Oversee operations in both Mombasa and Nairobi offices to ensure streamlined performance.
Bond Management: Execute all required bonds in liaison with insurance providers.
Order Tracking: Generate internal order numbers for tracking and billing purposes.
Financial Approval: Review and approve all supplier or vendor invoices before payment processing.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local and international regulations related to freight forwarding.
Customs Liaison: Act as the primary customs liaison representative at KEBS, KRA, and the Kenya Federation of Freight Forwarders Association.
People Management: Provide administrative leadership, set targets, conduct performance reviews, and assess the performance of employees.
Data Protection: Maintain the confidentiality and security of all departmental data collected.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Professional Certification: Mandatory certification from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA).
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a managerial position specifically within the Clearing & Forwarding industry.
Skills: Strong understanding of clearing & forwarding operations, regulations, and financial accuracy.
Technical: Proficient in computer applications relevant to logistics and operations.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication skills to liaise with regulatory bodies and insurance companies.
