Job Description
The Nakuru County Government is recruiting for the position of Driver III (10 Posts). The role is responsible for the safe operation of county motor vehicles and the transportation of passengers and goods, while ensuring the vehicle is maintained in excellent condition.
Responsibilities
Safely operate and drive motor vehicles as authorized.
Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicle systems including cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, and tire pressure.
Detect and report any mechanical or system malfunctions to the relevant authorities.
Maintain accurate work tickets for all assigned vehicles.
Ensure the security and safety of the vehicle both on and off-road.
Prioritize the safety of passengers and the security of goods in transit.
Maintain the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the assigned vehicle.
Requirements
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or an equivalent qualification.
A valid driving license without any current endorsements for the required vehicle classes.
A First Aid Certificate Course (minimum one week) from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or another recognized institution.
Successful completion of the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III.
Successful completion of a practical driving test conducted by the relevant Ministry or Department.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service.
At least two (2) years of active driving experience.
