The County Government of Lamu is seeking to recruit two qualified individuals for the position of Manager, Vocational Training Center. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight to ensure the effective operation of vocational training institutions within the county.
Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and administrative direction to the Vocational Training Center.
Manage institutional resources, including human resources, facilities, and budget allocation.
Oversee the implementation of training programs and ensure the curriculum meets national standards.
Coordinate staff performance management and ensure professional development.
Manage student affairs and maintain institutional discipline.
Implement and maintain education management systems and administrative reporting.
Ensure compliance with all relevant education and government regulatory requirements.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, the ideal candidate must:
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Technical Education, Education, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Have at least five (5) years of progressive experience in teaching, training, or administration, with at least three (3) years at a supervisory level in a vocational training institution or a similar environment.
Have a certificate from a Senior Management Course (SMC) lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
Demonstrate strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
Be proficient in computer applications and education management systems.
Be registered with a relevant professional body where applicable.
