Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC), formally known as Central Artificial Insemination Station (CAIS), is seeking a Livestock Attendant (KAGRC Grade 10). In this role, you will assist in day-to-day animal care, feeding, health monitoring, and general farm operations to support the genetic improvement of exotic dairy cattle.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in feeding animals.
Taking animals' temperature on a daily basis and recording of the same.
Cleaning of animals' pens and paddocks.
Preparing and presenting animals before germplasm collection.
Reporting any sick animal.
Taking part in animal dipping and vector control activities.
Preparing and presenting animals for vaccination and treatment, and parading them when there are visitors.
Ensuring quarantine measures are adhered to.
Assisting Veterinary surgeons during postmortems.
Requirements and Qualifications
KCSE D+ (Plus) or its equivalent.
Proficiency in Computer Applications.
Skills and Competencies
Hardworking.
Ability to work as a team.
Good communication skills.
Background in care of livestock.
