United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals
This is an internship position with the Library of the Registry at the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals ("Mechanism") in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania, expected to start in December 2025 for a duration of 3–6 months. The Mechanism was established by the UN Security Council to carry out essential functions of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (“ICTR”) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (“ICTY”) after their mandates completion. The Registry provides administrative, legal, policy, and diplomatic support services from branches in Arusha and The Hague.
The Library, under the supervision of the Library Assistant, houses a wide selection of materials covering international law, international criminal law, genocide, and human rights. Services offered include Online Public Access Catalogues, document delivery via email, and in-person reference and research assistance.
