Amref International University (AMIU) is seeking a Lecturer in Medical Surgical Nursing to develop, manage, and monitor the implementation of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery programs and related activities. The holder of this position will be responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction, curriculum development, and research while meeting the university's mission and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Training: Provide instruction and clinical training in the area of Medical Surgical Nursing.
Curriculum Development: Lead the development, review, and management of academic curricula to ensure they meet regulatory and educational standards.
Research and Extension: Engage in academic research, innovation, and community extension activities.
Fundraising: Participate in fundraising activities and grant-seeking within the department.
Student Mentorship: Supervise, coordinate, and mentor students through their academic and clinical journey.
Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality assurance and accreditation requirements set by relevant regulatory bodies.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional growth and other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor or Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Background: Master of Science in Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing).
Doctoral Studies: Must be actively enrolled as a PhD student.
Licensing: Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a valid practice license.
Teaching Experience: At least 5 years of experience in nursing training.
Clinical Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical practice.
Technical Expertise: Experience in curriculum development and evaluation, as well as proficiency in supporting virtual learning environments (VLE).
