Job Description
Kilimall, Kenya’s largest online shopping mall, is seeking a Laptop Quality Control (QC) Agent to be based in Mombasa. This role is essential for maintaining the quality standards of laptops processed through the platform. The agent will be responsible for ensuring that all units meet functional and cosmetic requirements before they are inventoried or sold.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection: Conduct thorough functional and cosmetic inspections of laptops.
Technical Testing: Test hardware and software, including battery health, screen, keyboard, ports, WiFi/Bluetooth, speakers, and system activation.
Quality Grading: Grade laptops as A (Excellent), B (Good), or C (Fair) based on established criteria.
Preparation: Clean, prepare, and package laptops according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Reporting: Document all inspection results and report any defective or returned units.
Technical Support: Support the re-inspection of units that have undergone repairs.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Diploma or higher in a Technical Course.
Sound knowledge of laptop hardware (experience with HP, Dell, and Lenovo is preferred).
Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems.
Previous experience in laptop testing, diagnostics, or quality control is an advantage.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow SOPs diligently and work effectively within a team.
Basic skills in reporting and inventory management.
