ISM Africa is a group of companies with interests in Manufacturing, renewable energy, trading, food security, and project services. We are looking for a Junior Accountant for a full-time office-based role in Nairobi County, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting budgeting and auditing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the group.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and assist in the reconciliation of accounts.
Budgeting and Auditing: Support the management in budgeting cycles and provide necessary documentation for auditing processes.
Operational Accounting: Process invoices, manage accounts payable (AP), and oversee accounts receivable (AR).
Compliance: Assist with tax compliance and ensure all financial activities adhere to local regulations and company policies.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of general accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Minimum 1 year of practical experience using QuickBooks is mandatory.
Software Proficiency: Competency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in construction or project-based accounting is considered a distinct advantage.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Required Skills
Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
