Role Overview
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking a Communications Intern. This internship provides an opportunity to support communication and information management initiatives within the project team, highlighting milestones, updating digital media platforms, and creating engaging content for various audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Media Creation: Plan and shoot high-quality photos and videos to capture various milestones of the project. Transform raw footage into compelling stories through creative editing.
Digital Content Management: Regularly update the UN internet websites and UNON intranet sites with project articles and stories in support of the overall CFP Communication Strategy.
Social Media Support: Support development of the CFP social media strategy and coordinate its implementation. Serve as the focal point for CFP social media accounts, monitoring and moderating comments to guide conversations appropriately.
Marketing Material Production: Prepare brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials to solicit Voluntary Contributions or in-kind contributions from Member States and other potential donors.
Information Crafting: Draft and compile information and communication products for target audiences, including press releases, reports, brochures, briefings, video clips, and newsletters. Focus communication on project updates including key initiatives like 'sustainability' and 'accessibility for persons with disabilities'.
Events and Briefings: Organize or participate in organizing conferences, official high-level visits, press briefings, and meetings. Prepare presentations and briefing materials for officials prior to their participation.
Coordination: Work with Communication focal points at the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) and the Office of the Director General to share information and build awareness of the CFP. Perform other duties as assigned.
