The Inbound Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound operations within the warehouse. This critical role ensures the accurate, timely, and efficient receipt of goods from suppliers and transporters, safeguarding product quality, maintaining compliance with inventory procedures, and supporting smooth overall warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Operations Management
- Supervise and verify the receipt of incoming products, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
- Enforce Quality Assurance procedures for inbound deliveries, checking for damaged, under-supplied, or over-supplied items.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) for both local and imported items.
- Oversee the verification of customer returns and ensure proper documentation for credit note processing.
- Manage the receipt of items from retail branches, confirming compliance with stock transfer notes.
- Coordinate timely offloading of containers and oversee KEBS stickering of imported products.
- Liaise with procurement and category teams to ensure timely purchase and availability of stickers.
Inventory and Compliance
- Implement and maintain best practices for inventory handling and stock management to minimize discrepancies.
- Work closely with product category teams to schedule and optimize inbound deliveries.
- Ensure safe handling and loading at dispatch to minimize damage.
- Enforce occupational health and safety standards, ensuring staff use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement safety measures to achieve zero work-related accidents.
- Support warehouse management in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Warehouse Management.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field.
- Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in warehouse operations.
