Job Description
The Balloon Pilot role involves operating commercial hot air balloon flights safely and in strict accordance with all aviation regulations. The Pilot holds primary responsibility for ensuring passenger safety and delivering an exceptional, high-quality flight experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct safe balloon flights in accordance with aviation regulations.
Perform comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections of the equipment and balloon system.
Ensure absolute passenger safety and deliver an exceptional flight experience.
Coordinate seamlessly with the ground crew and the operations team regarding logistics and flight preparation.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A Bachelor of Science/Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND) qualification.
Licensing: Valid Commercial Balloon Pilot Licence (BBPL/CPL-B) recognized by KCAA (Kenya Civil Aviation Authority) or a relevant aviation authority.
Experience: Minimum 35 hours of flight experience.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of aviation safety protocols and meteorological conditions relevant to balloon flight.
Skills: Excellent communication and passenger-handling skills.
Availability: Must be flexible and willing to work early mornings and weekends.
Advantageous Experience: Experience operating in safari or tourism environments will be an added advantage.
