Job Description
The role of the Human Resources Assistant is to support day-to-day HR operations within Tenakata, a microfinance institution licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya as a Digital Credit Provider. Tenakata empowers small businesses in Africa by assisting with financial record-keeping and promoting financial literacy through business support coaching, ensuring the secure sharing of reliable financial information with financial institutions.
This position is crucial in assisting with performance management, staff welfare, and handling disciplinary processes while ensuring full compliance with company policies and the Employment Act.
Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
Assist in facilitating conflict resolution and manage employee disciplinary actions effectively.
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for staff.
Help to support the performance appraisal process and provide necessary guidance to both managers and employees.
Assist in administering employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Ensure strict compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal company policies.
Assist in the development and implementation of new HR policies and procedures.
Promote a positive workplace culture through proactive employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management (BA/BSc/HND).
Experience: 2 years of experience in human resources or related administrative roles.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Certification (Added Advantage): Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in HR software is required.
