The HR Intern role at Mogo Finance involves providing key administrative and operational support across core Human Resources functions within a fast-paced environment. This internship offers substantial exposure to professional HR operations, focusing heavily on data management, documentation, compliance, and managing the employee lifecycle in a shared-services model.
Responsibilities (What you will do):
HR Data, Systems & Reporting Support
- Assist in updating and maintaining employee data in HR systems (HR App, ERP/MIS).
- Support preparation of routine HR reports (Headcount, attrition, leave tracking).
- Validate data accuracy and flag inconsistencies to the HR Generalist.
- Assist with departmental metrics reporting as required.
Contracts & Documentation Support
- Assist in preparing employee contracts, confirmations, and renewals using approved templates.
- Support tracking of contract expiry dates and documentation status.
- Assist with filing and organizing work permits and employee documentation.
Benefits & Records Administration
- Support administration of employee benefits records (Medical, Pension, ICEA) under supervision.
- Assist Payroll Lead by compiling required benefits data and documentation.
- Maintain accurate digital employee files in the HR App and shared systems.
Employee Lifecycle Support (Operational)
- Support onboarding documentation (checklists, system access forms, file creation).
- Assist with offboarding documentation, exit checklists, and IT revocation tracking.
- Support exit clearance documentation and records filing.
Compliance & File Management
- Assist with maintaining compliance documentation (OSHA, WIBA, NEA records).
- Support audits by retrieving HR files and reports when requested.
- Always ensure confidentiality and proper handling of employee records.
HR Support Tasks
- Provide basic support for interview scheduling when required (calendar coordination).
- Support HR system improvement projects (testing, data clean-up, documentation).
- Assist with staff changes documentation (transfers, promotions) under guidance.
Learning & Development Outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements (What you will need):
- Diploma or Degree student/recent graduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of HR principles and employment documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Previous attachments or internship will be an added advantage.
