Job Description
Bayes (PI Capital) is a diversified Kenyan Microfinance and an award-winning microfinance institution based in Nairobi, providing mobile loans, logbook loans, asset financing, salary advances, and merchant loans. The HR Assistant will play a key supporting role within the Human Resources department, contributing to the efficient delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle.
Job Purpose
The role involves providing day-to-day administrative and operational support while actively participating in core HR functions such as recruitment and onboarding, employee records management, payroll coordination support, training and development logistics, and employee relations assistance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures, including the employee handbook.
Support the HR department in creating and instating a sound recruitment process to fill company vacancies.
Drive efficiency in employee onboarding processes and integration into the organization.
Responsible for accurate minute taking during meetings and HR-related discussions.
Assist in disciplinary processes, including documentation and coordination of required actions.
Collaborate with various teams to support performance and operational effectiveness.
Support training and development activities, including coordination where required.
Address workplace concerns to ensure issues are managed and resolved in a fair and timely manner.
Assist in the analysis of HR reports, including attendance records and leave reports.
Develop and implement initiatives based on survey feedback and strategically use exit interviews to identify reasons for turnover.
Help design and implement employee benefits packages (pension schemes, health insurance, welfare, etc.).
Organize company events, including team buildings, trainings, workshops, and seminars.
File HR documents and communicate with the HR Manager on all human resource matters.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant HR experience within the fintech or financial services industry.
Skills and Abilities
Solid understanding of HR functions and administrative tasks.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to translate HR into a strategic function.
