About the Role
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Gate Pass Clerk (M/F) in Mombasa, Kenya. The Gate Pass Clerk ensures that all documentation received from clearing agents is correct and complete before gate passes are processed, maintaining compliance with established procedures and facilitating smooth logistical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all documents received from clearing agents are in order before they proceed for gate pass processing: this includes confirming MCT invoice and receipts are attached, confirming KPA copy of delivery order is attached and is valid, and confirming port pass of clearing agent is attached and is valid.
Ensure that the documents received are aligned with the laid down procedure for gate pass processing.
Upload data in ipaki and print gate passes.
Check with shipping lines to follow up on CFS copies of delivery orders.
Ensure gate pass has been signed by the authorized personnel.
Split the gate passes and ensure they are received by the valid and authorized personnel.
File KPA delivery orders.
Prepare daily status reports for consolidators and send them by email within the allocated time.
Prepare monthly status reports and send them by email within the allocated time.
Receive exited gate passes from the security team / allocated personnel every day and ensure all is in order.
Ensure that all gate passes that have been closed are sent to the filing room in the allocated time.
Keep logs of gate passes that are on credit facility / manual gate passes and follow up on closure.
Assist with SOA when the finance department requests.
Follow up with the management to assist with clients' queries and gate pass issuance.
Answer internal and external clients with regards to gate pass and releasing queries.
Perform any other duties as directed by management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma in Business Administration, Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2 years' experience in a similar role.
Experience in KWATOS will be an added advantage.
