The County Government of Kakamega is looking to recruit six (6) individuals for the position of Fireman III. This role involves emergency response, maintenance of firefighting equipment, and providing life support during crises to ensure the safety of the community and property within the county.
Duties and Responsibilities
Simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances to ensure they are in good working condition.
Assisting in emergency cases and response efforts.
Response to vehicle extrication, mitigation of hazardous materials, and confined space rescue operations.
Rescuing people endangered by fire.
Providing basic life support activities during emergencies.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade ‘D’ or its equivalent and relevant qualification.
Fireman II Certificate from a recognized Fire Services Training School or Institution.
First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution.
Proof of physical fitness.
Certification of medical fitness by a Government doctor.
