Old Mutual Kenya is looking for a Business Growth and Development Manager to join their Faulu team. This role involves working closely with the Area Manager to formulate and implement the overall business strategy for the branch while assessing business opportunities to grow a quality portfolio. The job holder is expected to aggressively drive the branch’s growth and profitability targets by identifying, developing, and maintaining profitable relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Strategic Alignment
Develop and implement branch business initiatives and turnaround strategy in line with Faulu business strategies for growth and profitability.
Lead business growth and development of the branch, agencies, and other alternative service outlets.
Drive sales of all products and services at the branch level through leadership and motivation of the sales team.
Initiate and ensure profitable business relationships and partnerships with customers, the community, and government structures.
Keep up with changing customer needs and competitors to ensure the Bank remains competitive.
Manage growth and quality of the branch's business portfolio (Assets and Liabilities).
Monitor customer recruitment, onboarding, and cross-selling in alignment with bank targets.
Brand Visibility & Marketing
Adopt strategic marketing to develop a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Promote Faulu’s brand visibility and act as the key liaison point with the community.
Liaise with Marketing and Product development teams to review existing products for fit with changing customer needs.
Strategically position Faulu as a Trader’s Bank through consistent messaging.
Ensure proper display of merchandising materials according to guidelines.
Leadership and People Management
Lead the branch team in achieving/surpassing business targets through performance management, coaching, and mentorship.
Develop a high-performing team and implement succession plans.
Oversee Human Capital functions at the branch level, ensuring adherence to HR policies and procedures.
Track staff participation in development programs and training.
Enhance staff motivation and engagement through recognition initiatives.
Cost & Operations Management
Ensure optimal utilization of people, financial, and technical resources within the branch.
Manage budget planning and evaluate financial performance against targets.
Oversee branch opening and closing procedures as per CBK requirements.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security requirements, including camera surveillance and fire drill procedures.
Ensure no breach of branch cash limits in adherence to regulator guidelines.
Audit, Risk and Compliance
Chair the Branch Credit Committee and ensure compliance with Credit policy and procedures.
Monitor 100% compliance with all company policies, processes, and controls.
Ensure full compliance with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) guidelines and Microfinance provisions.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental Social Management (ESM) policies.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from a recognized university.
6 years of experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role with a proven track record.
Experience in lending/credit within an MFI or financial institution.
Preferred: Master’s in business or related field and advanced training in Business Management.
