This is an ICT Specialist role responsible for providing effective and efficient support and system administration for NCBA's corporate channels. This includes, but is not limited to, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Mobile Money Payment systems, and Bill Payment Systems. The role ensures high system availability and optimal performance to deliver an excellent user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Support (30%)
Provide Second and Third Level technical and application support for the Mobile, MPESA, and Internet Banking product families and their supporting environments.
Facilitate Digital Channels application performance tuning, upgrades, and overall system optimization.
Document procedures to ensure standardized operations and excellent customer service.
Incident and Problem Management (40%)
Resolve service-interrupting incidents in the quickest and most effective way possible, adhering to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Ensure availability for 24-hour on-call support for Digital Channels systems.
Implement remedial actions to maintain agreed-upon service levels with the business units.
Change Management (10%)
Execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and manage the implementation of system upgrades, hotfixes, patch releases, and Change Request (CR) deployments.
Act as the Technical Resource for various Digital Channels projects.
IT Governance and Security (10%)
Manage key system configurations to ensure the generation and maintenance of secure audit trails for any changes in sensitive databases.
Business Continuity Management (10%)
Identify areas with inadequate Disaster Recovery (DR) and collaborate with IT Infrastructure and the Manager of Core Systems to mitigate risks.
Test and document Disaster Recovery procedures to ensure business continuity if standard operations (BAU) fail.
Job Requirements
A Degree in Computer Science or a relevant IT degree from a recognized university.
Training and applied knowledge in Digital Channels Support, Unix, and Oracle.
At least three years of practical experience in a 3-tiered application architecture.
Experience supporting web technologies such as Jboss, WebLogic, and IIS.
Proven experience in supporting banking channels (mobile, internet, ATMs, etc.).
Demonstrated experience in systems analysis, design, implementation, and support.
Proficiency in SQL Scripting.
Solid knowledge of banking operations, business unit functions, and business impact analysis.
Thorough understanding of the Bank’s core banking system.
