The Environmental Health Safety Specialist role is crucial for monitoring and enforcing workplace safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing health, safety, and environmental programs within the manufacturing facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce workplace safety standards.
- Ensure effective emergency preparedness and response measures.
- Conduct regular health and safety training for employees.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Identify, assess, eliminate, and continuously monitor workplace risks and hazards.
- Oversee the proper operation and management of the company clinic.
- Develop, implement, and review health, safety, and environmental policies in line with current legislation and best practices.
- Advise management and administration on all health and safety matters.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Studies or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar HSE role.
- Relevant certification/accreditation in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and equipment operation.
