Job Description
The Driver will provide reliable and safe driving services for the organization, ensuring the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of assigned vehicles. The role will also support administrative and logistical functions, including transportation of staff, delivery of documents, and vehicle management, in line with the organization’s policies and procedures.
Scope of the Work
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
Ensure that the vehicle is clean inside and outside at all times.
Ensure that the vehicle is in good condition and fit for both short and long-distance travel.
Supervise and follow up on physical repairs and maintenance of office vehicles.
Report any accidents, injuries, or damage to management promptly.
Assist with annual vehicle inspection and ensure all legal requirements (insurance, license, roadworthiness) are up to date.
Driving & Transport Services
Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel, and delivery/collection of mail, documents, supplies, and equipment as instructed.
Ensure adherence to traffic rules, safety, and organizational policies at all times.
Log all official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant records accurately.
Administrative & Logistical Support
Provide technical advice on the procurement of spare parts and assist in obtaining quotations.
Carry out driver-responsible tasks as directed, including minor mechanical checks and arranging for external repairs.
Assist in other administrative and logistical duties when required.
Other Duties
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management related to transport and logistics support.
Qualifications and Skills
Education Level
Minimum of Certificate of Secondary Education.
Certificate of motor vehicle mechanics grade 1.
Must have driving license class C - verified.
Experience
Proven work experience of at least 4 years as a professional driver with a safe driving record.
Key Skills
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Familiarity with road safety regulations and best practices.
Effective communication skills and ability to work independently.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle emergencies and make sound decisions under pressure.
