Job Description
This role involves commanding the aircraft while prioritizing the safety and comfort of passengers at all times. The First Officer is expected to maintain high standards of discipline, appearance, uniformity, and promptness among Co-pilots and Cabin Crew. A key aspect of the duty is ensuring commercial objectives are met without compromising safety, including obtaining additional revenue load for the Company where possible. The officer must ascertain they are fully briefed on Flight Plans, NOTAMs, Fleet Notices, Weather, and any other required documentation. They are responsible for verifying that aircraft loading conforms to laid-down procedures and accurately recording all flight movements as per company requirements. Additional duties include reporting all incidents and accidents, reporting flight delays, and supervising the acceptance and handover of diplomatic mail and precious cargo.
The terms of employment include a Ten (10) years contract for Tanzanian nationals, with attractive remuneration and fringe benefits aligned with the ATCL Salary Structure and Incentive Scheme.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Command the aircraft with due regard for safety and comfort of passengers at all times.
Maintain a high standard of discipline, appearance, uniformity and promptness on their Co-pilots and Cabin Crew.
Determine those commercial aspects of their flights are achieved and whenever safety is not impaired to obtain additional revenue load for the Company.
Ascertain that they are briefed of Flight Plans, Notam, Fleet Notices, Weather and any pertinent documentation and service items that their flight may require.
Verify that the loading of their aircraft has been performed in accordance with laid down procedures.
Report all incidents and accidents.
Verify that all documents/certificates required being on board the aircraft are available and valid.
Report any Flight delays of flights.
Accept and sign for diplomatic mail, precious cargo and supervise their stowage aboard the aircraft and handover to destinations.
Ensure a safe and secure working environment in compliance with relevant legislative/industry requirements.
Audit, review and report on service delivery to monitor compliance on SLAs availed to GHA.
Handle administrative processes to ensure integrity and accuracy manual and computerized data processing.
Record all flight movements as per company requirement.
Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate must meet the minimum entry qualifications, including having more than 250 flying hours or above with a Commercial Pilot License, Multi Engine with Instrument Rating. Experience handling a minimum of 10 tons’ equipment with good performance is required, alongside a valid Class one medical certificate and ICAO English Proficiency level 4 or above.
