The Development Manager is a critical role responsible for driving the organization's growth by securing funding and managing donor relationships. You will translate program data and strategy into compelling narratives, identify new opportunities, and ensure rigorous compliance with grant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development: Develop clear, compelling fundraising proposals by translating program work, data, and strategy into strong donor-facing materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across program, finance, and leadership teams to draft, coordinate, and align proposal inputs with operational and financial realities.
Quality Assurance: Review and refine submissions to ensure clarity, consistency, and full compliance with donor requirements and organizational priorities.
Opportunity Assessment: Identify and assess funding opportunities through research, internal review processes, and concise briefing materials to support go/no-go decisions.
Pipeline Tracking: Maintain and strengthen the fundraising pipeline by tracking opportunities and ensuring systems and information are up to date for effective pursuit.
Donor Coordination: Coordinate internal responses to donor requirements, including due diligence, documentation, and information requests across teams.
Compliance & Reporting: Track grant requirements and timelines to ensure timely, organized compliance with donor communications and reporting obligations.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 5+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, partnerships, or development.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
Skills & Attributes:
Organized, curious, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and building systems.
A strong writer capable of translating complex ideas into clear, compelling materials such as concept notes and proposals.
Skilled at noticing inconsistencies, gaps, or unclear arguments in written materials.
Comfortable researching opportunities and synthesizing information.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining tracking systems for deadlines and donor requirements.
