The Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for notifying members on their loans in arrears, including substandard, doubtful, and loss categories, and advising them on appropriate loan repayment modes to maintain the SACCO's financial health.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Arrears Analysis: Conduct monthly analysis of members in arrears based on the number of missed installments.
Communication: Contact members in arrears via phone calls and SMS to inform them of outstanding amounts and follow up on payments.
Repayment Planning: Work with members to establish agreed payment plans and send reminders before the agreed due dates.
Member Advisory: Respond to member queries regarding their accounts and provide expert advice on debt management.
Loan Restructuring: Identify and refer cases suitable for restructuring to the Credit Officer.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly reports covering collections received, all follow-up actions taken, and commitment dates established.
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
Education: Minimum KCSE grade of C (plain).
Professional Qualification: Diploma in Co-operative Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with computerized accounting systems.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience.
