Role Overview
The role involves managing debt recovery processes, handling client communication, negotiating repayment plans, monitoring delinquent accounts, preparing timely reports, and achieving stretching business targets. The officer will work closely with teams to ensure effective debt resolutions while adhering to internal policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage debt recovery processes specifically for unsecured salary loans.
Handle professional client communication regarding outstanding debts.
Negotiate viable repayment plans with delinquent clients.
Monitor delinquent accounts closely to ensure adherence to payment schedules.
Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports on collection progress.
Achieve stretching business targets related to debt recovery and account normalization.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective debt resolution.
Adhere strictly to internal company policies and industry regulations (CBK) throughout the recovery process.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields is preferred.
Experience: 1+ years of work experience in Debt Collection, especially for unsecured microfinance loans.
Knowledge: Understanding of finance-related procedures and financial regulations/debt recovery best practices in Kenya.
Background Check: Successful candidates must be willing to undergo and accept a background check.
Required Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Exceptional analytical skills for assessing financial situations and identifying effective collection strategies.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
