The County Government of Kisumu is seeking a Climate Change Officer to contribute to the county's mission of transforming the livelihoods of its people through accountable and efficient leadership. The officer will play a vital role in managing environmental and natural resources, ensuring sustainable development within the seven constituencies of Kisumu County (Kisumu East, Kisumu West, Kisumu Central, Seme, Nyando, Muhoroni, and Nyakach).
Requirements for Appointment
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Forestry, Geography, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant professional body.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), research, and analytical skills will be considered an added advantage.
Certifications: EIA/EA (Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Audit) certification by NEMA is an added advantage.
Foreign Degrees: Applicants with degrees from foreign institutions must have them authenticated by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
