Job Description
The Open University of Kenya (OUK) is seeking to hire three qualified individuals for the position of Clerical Officer II. OUK utilizes innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education, to address limited capacity in traditional universities. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support necessary for the smooth operation of the university departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for a range of essential administrative tasks, including:
Collecting, maintaining, and managing statistical and administrative records.
Handling accounts and personnel-related transactions.
Receiving, sorting, filing, and dispatching correspondence and applications.
Maintaining an efficient filing and records management system, including digitization.
Preparing documents, including initial store issuance documents and Pay Change Advices (PCAs).
Compiling, collating, and assisting in the analysis of data.
Maintaining stores, equipment inventory, and general office supplies.
Monitoring office cleanliness and coordinating general office services.
Printing, binding, and preparing documents and materials as required.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following requirements:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent qualification.
Passed the Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers.
Proficiency in ICT.
Terms of Service and General Information
The Terms of Service will be either Permanent and Pensionable OR Contract, as shall be determined by the University Council.
