Gatsby Africa is hiring a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Nairobi office and play a pivotal role in driving organisational performance, operational excellence, and strategic alignment across the organisation. In this senior leadership role, you will work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Management Team to strengthen systems, culture, and delivery across Corporate Services and country operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee key organisational functions including Finance & Operations, People, and Communications.
Manage and support Country Directors to ensure the organisation is set up to deliver impact at scale across East Africa.
Drive strategic alignment and operational excellence across Gatsby Africa.
Strengthen internal systems and foster a high-performance culture.
Ensure operational delivery meets the strategic goals of the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
Extensive experience in senior leadership or executive management roles.
Proven track record in managing corporate functions such as Finance, HR, and Operations.
Experience in strategic planning and organisational development within the non-profit or development sector is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams across multiple regional locations.
