The Embu County Government is recruiting a Senior Weights and Measures Officer to ensure fair trade practices and consumer protection. The officer will be responsible for the enforcement of weights and measures legislation, ensuring that all weighing and measuring equipment used in trade is accurate and complies with national standards.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
A Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Law, Instrumentation, or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics), Micro-processors, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
An Advanced Certificate of the Institute of Trade Standards Administration (Kenya).
A Certificate of membership of the Institute of Trade Standards Administration (Kenya).
A Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must comply with Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution by providing clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
