Job Description

The school is seeking a dedicated Chef to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality catering services to students and staff, ensuring that nutritional standards and health regulations are strictly followed. The role involves managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare daily meals for students and staff in accordance with established menus, dietary restrictions, and nutritional guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Monitor food quality to ensure all meals meet or exceed health and safety standards.
Inventory and Budgeting: Maintain an accurate inventory of food and supplies, order ingredients as needed, and manage the food budget effectively.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
Staff Supervision: Train, supervise, and evaluate kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines.
Special Dietary Needs: Collaborate with school administrators to plan menus for students with specific dietary needs, such as allergies or religious restrictions.
Waste Management: Manage kitchen waste, including composting and recycling efforts.
Event Support: Work closely with school administration to plan and coordinate food service during special events and school activities.
Hygiene and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following strict cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
General Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Diploma in Food and Beverage or Food Production from a recognized institution.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a learning institution.
Certification: Must possess a valid food handlers certificate from the relevant regulatory institution.
