This is an entry-grade position into the Building Inspector cadre. The officer will be deployed to construction sites for on-the-job training under the mentorship and guidance of a senior officer. The role is designed to build technical competency in building inspection and civil works oversight within Nakuru County.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Technical Interpretation: Interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings to ensure construction projects comply with approved plans and standards.
Site Inspections: Monitor and check minor repairs and alterations of existing buildings to ensure quality control and structural integrity.
Training and Development: Participate in active site deployments to gain practical experience under the supervision of senior technical officers.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Diploma in any of the following fields: Building and Civil Engineering; Construction Technician Part III; or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
