Bartender

Responsibilities and Duties

• Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of food, liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail menus.
• Prepare basic beverages for guest service, up to and including basic cocktails.
• Interact with guests to ensure they feel valued and special.
• Comply with all local liquor laws and regulations.
• Maintain personal and financial accountability, including controlling bar costs and minimizing waste.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the bar and bar prep areas.
• Complete and close out all paperwork thoroughly at the end of shifts.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of the food menu and preparation techniques.
• Be proactive by assisting co-workers and supporting managers as needed.
• Stay proficient with all aspects and services of the property, including its history and general city information.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: BA/BSc/HND degree required.
• Experience: Previous bartender experience is required.
• Service Experience: Previous customer service experience required, preferably in an upscale or luxury setting.
• Technical Skills: Previous experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred.
• Training: Successful completion of a server position training program.

Physical Aspects of the Position

• Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 30 lbs.
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
