About the Role\n\nThe Associate - Research Management will support the research department in coordinating study logistics, data collection, and administrative tasks. The role involves ensuring that research protocols are followed precisely, maintaining high-quality data integrity, and providing essential support to field teams and senior research staff. Founded at Harvard and launched in Kenya in 2018, Shamiri Institute combines social science research with deep contextual knowledge to provide evidence-based tools that improve life outcomes for youth in Sub-Saharan Africa.\n\n### Roles and Responsibilities\n\n\n* Support scheduling and coordination of research activities across schools or field sites.\n* Prepare materials, equipment, and supplies for data collection.\n* Assist with recruitment, tracking, and follow-up of study participants.\n\n\n* Conduct surveys, assessments, or interviews under supervision of senior staff.\n* Ensure proper consent procedures and ethical conduct.\n* Follow study protocols precisely to ensure data integrity.\n\n\n* Maintain organized records of participant lists, consent forms, daily logs, and field notes.\n* Support preparation of IRB documents, pre-registration materials, and study manuals.\n* Update trackers, spreadsheets, and internal documentation systems.\n\n\n* Conduct routine checks to ensure correct administration of instruments.\n* Flag data anomalies, logistical issues, or participant concerns promptly.\n* Support piloting and refinement of data collection tools.\n\n\n* Support data uploads, cleaning, and organization under supervision.\n* Ensure confidentiality and secure data storage practices.\n* Prepare basic summaries or field reports when required.\n\n\n* Work with service delivery teams, school partners, or clinical staff to coordinate research activities.\n* Support communication between field teams and research leadership.\n\n### Key Competencies\n* Strong organizational and communication skills\n* High reliability and attention to detail\n* Ability to follow protocols accurately\n* Comfort working in field environments\n* Strong ethical awareness and professionalism\n* Basic understanding of quantitative or qualitative research methods\n\n### Qualifications\n* Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, social sciences, education, or a related field\n* 1-3 years of experience in research support roles\n* Experience with fieldwork, data collection, or participant coordination\n* Familiarity with digital data platforms is an advantage\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Shamiri Institute application portal at .
