The role of Associate, People Operations at Population Services International (PSI) involves providing crucial administrative, project management, and operational support to the People Operations department. PSI has been measurably improving the health of Kenyans since 1989, utilizing a private sector approach to improve health outcomes for vulnerable communities, focusing on serious health challenges like HIV/AIDS and reproductive health.
This role is central to maintaining effective employee programs, managing HR systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting compliance and basic financial management tasks.
Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
- Provide project management and support for a wide range of departmental priorities and employee programs. Identify opportunities for improvements, and develop and implement new tools, systems and workflows that enhance employee program effectiveness.
- Support the maintenance and administration of the People Operations automations, events & travel coordination, and content creation for communication platforms.
- Manage various HR inboxes and provide guidance on routine HR policies and procedures or applicable triage.
- Handle letter & file management, onboarding & offboarding processes, SOPs, and other systems supporting the HR function.
- Perform data entry and ensure data integrity, develop and run custom reports, and help review, test, and implement upgrades and patches for HR systems.
- Provide moderate financial management support, which may include assisting with reconciliations, re-classing expenses, procurement and payment of consultants, vendors, and other services, and management and reconciliation of the team purchasing card.
- Assist with external and internal audits by gathering and packaging documentation and oversight of compliance programs (e.g., I-9, new hire reporting, etc.).
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience (What You'll Bring)
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of HR operational functions and compliance requirements.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of HRIS-based software and other HR systems (SharePoint, Meridian, Unit4). Able to pick up new technologies and systems quickly.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail and timeliness.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality for sensitive issues and information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to think creatively and approach tasks or problems in a new or different way.
