The Embu County Government is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Assistant Quantity Surveyor II. This role is responsible for providing technical support in the management of construction costs and contracts within the county. The officer will work under the guidance of a senior officer to ensure precise financial estimation and reporting for building projects to maintain budget integrity and economic standards.
Responsibilities
Preparation of detailed cost estimates for various building and construction projects.
Compiling Bills of Quantities (BQs) and other relevant tender documents.
Conducting monthly valuations on-site to monitor work progress and financial expenditure.
Performing site re-measurements to verify work quantities and specifications against initial plans.
Preparing variation orders and ensuring all financial adjustments are properly documented and approved.
Requirements for Appointment
A Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Registration as a Graduate member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK).
