The Assistant Fire Officer III works under the guidance of a senior officer to ensure the safety and protection of the community through fire prevention and emergency response. This role involves supervising shifts at the fire station, maintaining equipment, and engaging with the public through safety campaigns and demonstrations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise shifts at the fire station to ensure operational readiness.
Plan and conduct community fire safety campaigns to raise awareness.
Compile reports on fire incidents and identify training needs.
Inspect fire appliances and equipment for efficiency and reliability.
Implement unit orders and instructions accurately.
Inspect buildings to assess potential fire hazards and risks.
Conduct fire demonstrations for public education.
Requirements for Appointment
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Fire Engineering, Disaster & Risk Management, Disaster Management and Sustainable Development, Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Valid Heavy Commercial Driving License.
First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution lasting not less than one (1) week.
Certificate in computer applications.
Certificate of Good Conduct.
Training in supervisory/leadership skills will be an added advantage.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Scale: CPSB 11: Ksh. 29,730 х 1,120 - 30,850 х 1,150 - 32,000 х 1,170 - 33,170 х 1,250 - 34,420 х 1,300 - 35,720 х 1,380 - 37,100 pm.
