Administration Officer II (4 Posts)

The Open University of Kenya (OUK) aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students. This role supports the core administrative functions necessary for the efficient operation of a specific division, department, school, unit, or section of the University.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of administrative functions of the division, department, school, Unit or section.
• Taking minutes in various committees.
• Supervision of staff under them.
• Advice the head of department on all matters relating to the department.
• Assist in the setting and implementation of the departmental PC targets.
• Assist in the adherence to the Quality Management Standards (QMS) for the implementation of the performance management system of the department.
• Support planning and budgeting in the division, department, school, Unit or section.
• Any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, one MUST meet the following requirements:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized University.
• Be proficient in computer applications packages.
• Have one (1) year of relevant administrative experience.
• Certified Secretaries (CS) Level I will be an added advantage.
• Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity upon successful appointment.
