Role Purpose
The Account Assistant will support the finance function by managing underwriter relationships, performing detailed account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports to ensure accurate premium processing and group-level financial planning.
Responsibilities
Underwriter Management
Conduct monthly reconciliation of premium payable and premium receivable accounts.
Hold regular meetings with underwriters to ensure correct premium payment allocation.
Oversee daily premium collections in the system and collaborate to guarantee accurate premium payment processing.
Reconciliations
Reconciliation of Investments and preparation of monthly investment reports.
Reconciliation of insurance balances between Minet Kenya and assigned underwriters.
Monthly reconciliation and analysis of assigned General Ledger accounts.
Reconciliation of intercompany accounts and sign-off for payment recoveries.
Reporting
Preparation of management accounts, board reports, and consolidated financial statements on a group level in an accurate, comprehensive, and timely manner.
Preparation of weekly cash projections or cash flow forecasts, as well as a cash position report for the group to assist in planning.

Professional and Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course.
Professional certifications: CPA, ACCA, or CFA Part 1.
