This role is for a dedicated and qualified Year 1 & 2 Class Teacher (Key Stage 1), responsible for managing the classroom and delivering the British Curriculum to pupils in Key Stage 1, ensuring their holistic development.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations for the Class Teacher
The Year 1 & 2 Class Teacher is expected to:
- Be a fully qualified teacher with Key Stage 1 training and experience (QTS or have a valid TSC Certificate).
- Have experience of working in British Curriculum schools.
- Demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and families.
- Work collaboratively and build strong professional relationships with colleagues.
- Create a stimulating, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Show initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Be proactive and enthusiastic, with a desire to be fully involved in all aspects of life in a leading preparatory school.
- Be punctual and use preparation time effectively.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with both adults and children.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills.
- Show a competent standard of written English.
- Use ICT effectively in teaching; experience with interactive screens and iPads is an advantage.
- Provide a valid Police Clearance Certificate or International Certificate of Child Protection (ICPC).
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Keep up to date with educational developments in the UK.
Qualifications
