Volunteer Resource Person - Wajir

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing efficient Capital Markets in Kenya. CMA is seeking Investor Education Volunteer Resource Persons for a period of twenty-four (24) months on a part-time basis in Wajir County.

Role Purpose and Stipend

The main objective of this initiative is to increase awareness and participation in the capital markets by effectively engaging various target groups at the County level. This effort aligns with CMA’s mandate to promote investor education and public awareness throughout the country. A small stipend will be given for each engagement subject to terms and conditions.

Key Activities

The selected volunteer will primarily conduct investor education speaking engagements targeting the general public in Wajir County over the 24-month duration.

Candidate Requirements and Expectations

CMA is looking for volunteers who meet the following criteria:

• Are passionate about giving back to society at the grassroot level.
• Are familiar with various aspects of the capital markets in Kenya.
• Do you have some experience with events management and public speaking, and are you comfortable dealing with groups of approximately 30 people or more?
• Have personally invested, or have an interest, in shares and Bonds listed within the Nairobi Securities Exchanges (NSE) and in Collective Investments Schemes (Unit Trusts).
• Possession of a BA/BSc/HND qualification.
