Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the provision of animal health, veterinary public health, and animal control and welfare matters in the county.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Veterinary activities in the Sub County
Undertake disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination, and enforcement of livestock movement regulations
Participate in the training of stakeholders in vector control programs
Treat sick animals and advise on good veterinary practices
Collect data on animal health, products, and markets
Prepare reports on animal health, products, and markets
Provide advice on animal breeding and welfare
Undertake postmortem examination and other diagnostic tests
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from a recognized institution
Registration and retention by the Kenya Veterinary Board
Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized Institution
Entry-point level for Veterinary Surgeons
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and negotiation skills
Ability to build and lead cohesive teams
Problem-solving skills
Must meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya regarding leadership and integrity
