Africa Merchant Assurance Company Limited (AMACO) is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Underwriting Interns. The purpose of this internship is to provide support in the management of intermediary and direct insurance business transactions, including bancassurance, agency, broker, and other distribution channels within the general insurance operations.
Role Overview
The intern will gain practical experience in policy issuance, reconciliations, claims processing, renewals, and customer support while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the management of intermediary and direct insurance business transactions.
Support various distribution channels including bancassurance, agencies, and brokers.
Participate in policy issuance and renewal processes.
Assist with premium reconciliations and claims processing documentation.
Provide customer support as part of the underwriting team.
Ensure all activities comply with established company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business Management, or a related field.
A Diploma in Insurance or progress towards ACII/IIK will be an added advantage.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Willingness to learn and grow within the general insurance industry.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
