We are currently seeking to recruit qualified and dedicated Tutorial Fellows for our School of Law (Re-advertisement).
Role Overview
Reporting to the Dean, School of Law, the Tutorial Fellow will be responsible for academic instruction, curriculum development, and participating in the research and administrative functions of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction: Teach Undergraduate, Diploma, and Certificate courses.
Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and review of curriculum and learning materials.
Course Preparation: Prepare course outlines to guide effective delivery and coverage of the syllabus; develop learning content to ensure adequate coverage of course outlines.
Examination Management: Set, invigilate, and administer examinations; provide progressive reports to the Department.
Student Supervision: Supervise students’ projects and attend defense meetings to support students in completing their studies successfully.
Research and Publications: Carry out research, prepare publications, and participate in conferences to disseminate knowledge.
Funding: Actively seek and attract research funding to the University.
Field Supervision: Facilitate field studies and assess students during attachments, trips, and internships.
Attendance Monitoring: Monitor class attendance sheets to ensure students meet the required attendance threshold (at least four-fifths of all lectures) before sitting for examinations.
Administrative Duties: Participate in official University meetings and functions and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Must possess a Master’s degree in Law from a recognized or accredited university in the relevant field.
PhD Registration: Must be registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law or an equivalent Doctoral degree qualification.
Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in teaching at an academic institution.
Professional Membership: Registered with a relevant professional body where applicable.
