Tutorial Fellow - Hospitality and Tourism

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching & Instruction: Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department, delivering high-quality lectures and practical lessons.
• Curriculum Development: Design, develop, plan, and deliver a range of programmes of study, including new courses at various academic levels.
• Course Review: Regularly review and update course content and instructional materials to maintain high educational standards.
• Collaboration: Partner with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum reforms, and the advancement of research activities.
• Research & Grants: Conduct active research, write research grant proposals, and disseminate research outputs through appropriate channels.
• Consultancies & Presentations: Seek and participate in consultancy opportunities, and present academic papers at national or international conferences.
• Mentorship: Provide career guidance and academic mentorship to students and junior staff.
• Other Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the department supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education:
  • A Master’s degree qualification in Hospitality and Tourism Management from an accredited University.
  • A Bachelor's degree qualification in Hospitality and Tourism Management from an accredited University.
• Experience:
  • At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
  • Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Conversant with both kitchen and restaurant operations.
