Job Description
Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Transport Officer (Grade 9/10). The Transport Officer will be responsible for overseeing the university's fleet management and transport operations, ensuring efficiency and safety across all university transport services.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the university's transport department operations.
Oversee vehicle scheduling, route planning, and allocation of university vehicles.
Supervise drivers and support staff within the transport unit.
Ensure that all university vehicles are properly maintained, repaired, and serviced according to schedule.
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and university policies.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
Prepare and submit transport-related reports to the university management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Transport Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years of experience as an Assistant Transport Officer (Grade 7/8) or in a comparable position.
Possession of a valid driving license covering all vehicle classes.
Must be computer literate and proficient in relevant management applications.
