Role Overview
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Driver 1 to join its team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of missionaries and goods, using various vehicles including large buses, while ensuring the high standard of vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Transportation: Safely transport missionaries using a variety of vehicles, including large buses.
Vehicle Maintenance: Clean and service vehicles regularly, ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are conducted by certified technicians.
Compliance: Adhere to all federal and state transportation laws and safety procedures.
Inspections: Assist with daily vehicle inspections to ensure optimum performance and operation.
Logistics: Transport people and deliver goods to destinations safely by applying knowledge of driving regulations and local roads in accordance with instructions.
Documentation: Maintain vehicle logs and perform basic performance checks.
General Support: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Religious Requirement: Must be worthy of a temple recommend.
Education: Requires high school education or equivalent.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years of previous work experience.
Driving Experience: One year of previous driving experience with a good driving record and a safety-conscious mindset.
Licensing: Must possess an appropriate driver’s license.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of auto mechanics.
Navigational Skills: Ability to follow directions and/or maps.
Core Competencies: Basic reading, math, and communication skills.
Commitment: Demonstrated ability to care for and highly regard church vehicles and equipment.
