Job Description
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Transport Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating transport planning and inspection operations at the point of handover for all vehicles for CFAO Motors. The position ensures complete and timely updates of all systems and daily work sheets/reports concerning transport to achieve an aligned workflow for CFAO shipments.
Primary Responsibilities
Transport Planning: Coordinate transport planning and operations of inspection at the point of handover for vehicles consigned to, dispatched from, or during intermediate movements.
Yard Coordination: Ensure yard activity is coordinated efficiently for vehicle handling and stock management according to approved procedures, including driver activity and staff deployment.
Process Alignment: Align logistics transport planning with CFAO Sales and Operations processes.
Inventory Management: Track inventory under intermediate movements, including vehicle units at accessory suppliers and demonstration units, ensuring timely transport as requested.
Administration and Team Management
Manage and support the driver team to ensure successful service delivery.
Maintain attendance and leave registers.
Allocate tasks according to duty rosters and applicable arrangements.
Process documents for allowances and fares.
Inspection and Tracking
Ensure transport records and inventory systems (TALO/CFAO, VITS/ANT) are updated according to approved procedures.
Oversee the installation of tracking devices for CBU stocks.
Regularly track drivers to ensure compliance with established routes, documentation, and processes.
Stock Take and Documentation Support
Support weekly and monthly stock takes, including audits and reconciliations.
Handle documentation and processing for fuel vouchers, vehicle checklists, delivery notes, and incident/damage tracking.
Perform any other functions as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Degree in Commerce or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Clearing and Forwarding (C&F).
Experience in the Automotive Industry is an added advantage.
